Bottom Hinged Barrier

The SAK model BHB-1310-F Bottom Hinged Float up Barrier up is designed for openings that need a permanently installed barrier system, however, the conditions do not allow for a hinged or pocket slider. The BHB-1310-F is installed in its self-contained storage pan below grade with the back side of the gate in the same plane elevation as the walk or driveway. When a flood takes place, the system floats up with the rising flood waters, keeping the area behind the gate protected. Once the flood waters have receded, the gate can be lowered, and pedestrians or vehicle traffic can resume.
Sealing the BHB-1310-F is achieved by mechanical lip seals and compression seals. The use of these mechanical seals eliminates the need for inflation systems for inflatable seals.
